HomeFront Strong is an 8-week resiliency program designed especially for the needs of Post-9/11 military and veteran spouses/partners. Delivered in an in-person group or on-line format, HomeFront Strong incorporates evidence-based strategies to help spouses reduce stress and social isolation, build optimism and positive coping, change negative thinking, and learn new approaches to self-care. A parallel resiliency program is also offered for children and teens of participating families.
HomeFront Strong is being disseminated throughout Michigan by community providers who are trained and supported to deliver the program at their own site. Published findings show that participation in the program is associated with decreased stress, depression, and anxiety, along with improvements in coping, optimism, and life satisfaction.
