In this video, Buddy-to-Buddy Program volunteer Robert Calhoun shares his powerful story: Robert was sexually assaulted while serving in the Navy. He hid the rape for years, but the effects persisted. He had nightmares, drank to excess, used drugs, and felt depressed. At his lowest point, he called the Veterans Crisis Line. He connected with VA mental health treatment and turned his life around. Now, he’s proud of his service.
