Hans served for two years in the Army, 18 years in the Navy, and worked for four years as a contractor for the Navy prior to studying at USM. He is studying exercise science with the goal of becoming an athletic trainer. USM\u2019s Veteran Services Coordinator, Lorrie Spaulding, says, \u201cHans is the type of Peer Advisor who is truly invested in our students and their well-being.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hans describes how daunting it was to begin college and be surrounded by students that were so much younger than him.
