February 2017 Team Leader of the Month: Camden Ege, University of Southern Maine

Photo of CamdenCamden Ege has exhibited great passion and commitment to helping fellow student veterans, demonstrated by his excellent work as a Team Leader at University of Southern Maine (USM). He completed a Bachelor’s in Criminology and Leadership and Organizational Studies at USM and is now working on a Master’s in Leadership Studies there. Prior to studying at USM, Camden served six years in the Air Force, with his primary responsibilities being intercontinental ballistic missiles security and law enforcement. He plans to use what he’s studying in his graduate program and his experience working as a Team Leader to continue working with veterans in higher education once he completes his degree.

Of PAVE at USM, Camden says, “Even in the short time we’ve been implementing PAVE, I can see a clear difference in the level of involvement from our student veterans. It’s been rewarding to know that we’re helping people get the tools they need to succeed.” He reports that he’s been very intentional and thoughtful about matching Peer Advisors to new student vets and has enjoyed watching them forge connections with one another. Keep up the good work, Camden!
