Frank Herzberg is our Peer Advisor of the Month! Frank served 18 years active duty in the Navy as a Damage Controlman and then 2 years in the Guard before retiring. He is now studying hospitality management at Casper College and is considering majoring in health information management once he finishes his Associate’s and starts a Bachelor’s program. Tyolena Allen, Casper College’s Team Leader, nominated Frank, describing him as “always a friendly face and can make anyone’s day brighter.” She added that Frank “shows the utmost respect to everyone, makes them feel important, and is willing to help get any job done.” These are excellent qualities, especially for a Peer Advisor!
Frank jumped at the opportunity to become a Peer Advisor because he thought it would be a good way to meet people and help others, especially younger student veterans. His open, affable personality make him easy to talk to, and this has helped him connect with other student veterans and assist those who need it. Recent instances of Frank helping other student veterans include assisting one with GI Bill enrollment, and connecting another with a math tutor. On being a Peer Advisor, Frank says, “I don’t think I just help them, I think they help me too… They can help make you a better person.” It’s an honor to have you with PAVE, Frank!
