October 2025 Peer Advisor of the Month: Riley Danaher, Bowling Green State University

From Bryan Bills, Veteran Services Coordinator, Bowling Green State University: “Although Riley has only been part of our team for less than a semester, she has quickly distinguished herself as an exceptional Peer Advisor. From day one, she embraced her role with enthusiasm and initiative, taking the lead on outreach logs, personally following up with military-affiliated students, and consistently going above and beyond expectations. Her proactive approach has not gone unnoticed.

Riley brings a unique and valuable perspective to our team. As a military dependent who has recently begun her Army ROTC journey at BGSU, she bridges two distinct student populations with authenticity and empathy. Her dual role allows her to connect meaningfully with both dependents and ROTC cadets, enhancing peer-to-peer support in ways that are both impactful and innovative. Moreover, Riley has initiated new connections between our office and the ROTC program, fostering collaboration in new ways. Her efforts are laying the groundwork for a stronger, more integrated support system for military-affiliated students across campus. Our office, BGSU, and military-students are better served having her as a part of PAVE.”

From Riley Danaher: “I absolutely love being a Peer Advisor, reaching out and connecting with other students! As a dependent student there are many family niches other students wouldn’t understand; however especially at BGSU our office is a great place for us to meet, hangout and get work done! As a PAVE participant last year and now a Peer Advisor, I have nothing but great experiences to share! My favorite part about being a Peer Advisor is the ability to build community around military service and have such a positive work environment from our full-time employees to the student workers.”
