Before University of Oregon​ student vet Caitlyn Sweat was a Peer Advisor, she had a Peer Advisor who regularly reached out to her. Although she didn’t often reply to those emails and text messages, she recalls a sense of community. Now, as a Peer Advisor assigned to nine student veterans that she reaches out to consistently, she doesn’t always get responses, but she knows from her time on the other end that responding may not be the most critical part.
