Kelly Hamilton at Old Dominion University has been doing outstanding work there to establish PAVE by recruiting Peer Advisors and helping them get trained. His warm and easygoing manner make it easy to connect with him, which has helped him establish relationships with other student veterans. Kelly was a medic in the Army from 2007-2014 and is now a Biology major and Biochemistry and Mathematics minor. He is currently applying to medical school and would like to ultimately reenter active duty to become an Army physician. He was recruited into PAVE at ODU by the VSC there, Bill Brown, and has enjoyed the process of establishing the program there.

After being given the list of the 440 student veterans on his campus recently, Kelly sent them an email introducing PAVE and letting them know he could connect them with a Peer Advisor. He was excited by the response, as numerous student veterans immediately responded and wanted to be connected with a PA to assist them with various issues. Thanks for all you’re doing, Kelly!
