October 2016 Peer Advisor of the Month: Lori Cord, University of Colorado-Denver

Photo of LoriThe Peer Advisor of the Month is Lori Cord of University of Colorado-Denver! Lori makes familiarizing herself with campus resources and services a priority, and does a stellar job of connecting fellow student veterans with those resources. Lori is majoring in International Studies and minoring in Anthropology. Prior to her studies at UC Denver, Lori was a C5 Crew Chief in the Air Force for three years.

Lori says she was initially nervous about contacting other student veterans as a Peer Advisor, but was heartened by the overwhelmingly positive response she received from them once she did. This isn’t surprising because, according to VSC Stephani Loxton, “Lori has the unique ability to make any type of student feel comfortable in our office.” Lori is passionate about humanitarian issues, particularly human trafficking, and feels that her work as a Peer Advisor has reinforced her belief that whatever she does in the future will be focused on working with and helping others. Keep up the great work, Lori!
