Hans Ruediger of University of Southern Maine is the Peer Advisor of the Month! Hans served for two years in the Army, 18 years in the Navy, and worked for four years as a contractor for the Navy prior to studying at USM. He is studying exercise science with the goal of becoming an athletic trainer. USM’s Veteran Services Coordinator, Lorrie Spaulding, says, “Hans is the type of Peer Advisor who is truly invested in our students and their well-being.”
Hans describes how daunting it was to begin college and be surrounded by students that were so much younger than him. When asked by Lorrie and Team Leader Camden Ege about becoming a Peer Advisor, Hans was eager. “Something great about PAVE is having a veteran who’s been through a couple of years of school and passing that knowledge on to other students.” We’re so glad you’re part of PAVE, Hans!
