Paul Carlson of Indiana University is the Peer Advisor of the Month! Paul earned a BS in Electrical Engineering from Notre Dame University and then served for seven and a half years in the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps. He is now working on an MBA in Supply Chain and Operations Management and plans to pursue a career in operations management upon completing his degree. IU Team Leader Nick Marsh says, “Paul displays every characteristic that one desires in a Peer Advisor. He is dependable, present, and knowledgeable. He is truly an outstanding Peer Advisor.”

Paul emphasizes the value of reaching out to individual student vets continually, saying, “You can’t just try to get in touch once, you have to have the initiative to continue the outreach. It takes time, but you have to make the effort.” He makes it a point to learn about various campus services and resources in order to connect other student vets to them.
